Educational Background
Before entering into physiotherapy, Alyssa obtained her Bachelor of Science in Behavioural Neuroscience and a Minor in Commerce. After graduating, she was employed by Whistler Mountain and was able to practice her lifelong passion of skiing while working at the same time. However, she always knew the long term plan was to go back and become a physiotherapist, which took her to Ontario to complete her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Queen’s University. Ontario was a wonderful home for 2 year but the mountains called her back and she returned to Vancouver after completing her Physiotherapy training. Since then she has continued her education and clinical expertise through additional coursework in the areas of Functional Dry Needling(FDN)/Intramuscular Stimulation(IMS), Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Therapy, and Pelvic Health.

Personal History
Alyssa grew up in Deep Cove, North Vancouver. She has always loved the Cove and all it has to offer - swimming at secret beach, hiking up Seymour and snacking on Honey’s donuts. Fun fact: her first job was at Deep Cove Canoe and Kayak Shop. Growing up, she ski raced with the Whistler ski team and danced from three to seventeen. Since then she has stayed active through various sports and activities such as skiing, weightlifting, running, spin, pilates and Crossfit. Lately, you can find her on the North Shore trails with her husband, son and dog Rita.
